There’s a mother in the UK who says she’s addicted to powder–and we wish we were talking about cocaine. Lisa Anderson, of Paignton, Devon, claims she can’t stop eating baby powder since first trying eat in 2004 while drying off one of her five kids after a bath. “A bit of dust that had come off the bottle. I had this sudden urge to eat it, and I just couldn’t fight it,” she explains. After licking some off her hand, she adds that “the nice, soapy taste…really hit the spot.” The 44-year-old now says she consumes up to a tub a day of talcum. She’s since been treated for OCD, iron deficiency and Pica syndrome, a disorder characterized by eating nutrient-devoid items such as hair, dirt or paint chips. “I spent years not knowing what was going on or happening, but it turns out it is a condition,” says Anderson. “I just wants to let others know they are not alone.”
