Several University of Kentucky soccer players will have to sit out a pair of practices for violating NCAA rules. Their offense? Playing pickup soccer with The Foo Fighters while coaches were present. As The Courier-Journal points out, the NCAA prohibits coaches from being involved with players for events like pickup games during the week before final exams, which coincided with the Foos’ May 1 gig in Lexington. The newspaper also points out that Kentucky’s men’s basketball team has twice received slaps on the wrist from the NCAA for its “preferential treatment” of Toronto Raptors superfan Drake.
