Yesterday was Paulette Carlson’s 65th birthday, so let’s dive into the debut single from the band she founded, Highway 101!

Released in 1987 from the Album “Highway 101”, “The Bed You Made for Me” was written by Carlson. This single spent 24 weeks on the country music charts peaking at #4. Highway 101 would go on to have much success charting 9 more top 10 singles including 4 #1’s. The bands success would stall when Carlson decided to leave the group to pursue a solo career in 1990. She was replaced on lead vocals by Nikki Nelson, but the band would never see the same level of success they had in the late 80’s.

I’m not sure where this recording took place, but check out a live performance of “The Bed You Made For Me” below!
