Texas A&M Graduate’s Gator-Petting Photo Goes Viral

Texas A&M grad Makenzie Noland has gone viral with her graduation photo, in which she lovingly touches the snout of a 14-foot gator named Big Tex. Noland is a wildlife ecology major and intern at the alligator rescue Gator Country.

“I get in the water with that animal every day,” she told The Guardian, which notes that Big Tex and Holland have formed a special bond. “Every single time I get in the water with him, I realize how huge he is. He’s a real-life dinosaur.”

At nearly 14 feet, Big Tex is the largest gator at the rescue.
