Tale of the Tape: “Tin Man” vs “Every Little Thing”

Today we begin round 2 of the Song of the Year Tournament! It’s the divisional finals in the Female Vocalist bracket pitting Miranda Lambert’s “Tin Man” against Carly Pearce’s “Every Little Thing”.  These are 2 of the hottest songs in Froggy Country right now, and either one could go on to win the whole thing, but only one will move on today.  Let’s see what the numbers say!

Miranda hasn’t had a ton of success with “Tin Man” on a nationwide radio scale, but it has been one of the hotter songs in Froggy Country over the past couple of months dominating in the Froggy 5@5 and blowing out Maggie Rose in Round 1 of this tourney.  Released in April, the song has climbed to #15 on the Billboard Hot Country Charts, and #22 on the Country Airplay charts.  It has managed 320,000 in sales.

Carly Pearce is riding high after “Every Little Thing” became her first #1 single on the Country Airplay charts! It’s also done well on the Hot Country side of things climbing to #5, and totaling 332,000 in sales since it’s February release.  Carly blew out Maren Morris in round 1 with 71% of the votes over “I Could Use a Love Song”, and of course she is a Kentucky native, something that seems to go a long way in these situations from time to time.

If it was last month, I’d say look past the numbers and give this one to Miranda Lambert, but “Tin Man” seems like it may have cooled a bit lately.  The numbers suggest this one should be a nail biter with Carly Pearce narrowly escaping and moving on to round 2.  But it’s not the numbers that decide who moves on, it’s your vote! Voting opens at noon on the Froglines 502-875-4040, or on our facebook page and closes at 4.  Who wins, Miranda Lambert or Carly Pearce??? It’s all up to your vote!
